I graduated with a Bachelor degree in Community Resource Management and Extensions in 2019 from Kenyatta University.
Upon completion of my undergraduate degree, I was selected to join a team of outreach youth champions addressing food security issues through Enhancing Community Food Security in Rural and Urban Communities through Outreach Youth Champions (EFSOYC Project) a project led by Kenyatta University and Empower and Serve Kenya (EmpServe). As an outreach youth champion, me and my team member founded Wakulima ni Sisi Initiative where we successfully conducted a seven-month pilot project that helped support over 150 households trained on good agricultural practices.
In 2021 I was selected to join a team of global young leaders to undertake a virtual venture accelerator program by Watson Institute based in Boulder Colorado in the U.S where I was immersed in a four-month intensive training program on leadership and social entrepreneurship.
My dedication and passion to address food security especially in my community led me to being selected to undertake a one-year exchange program in the U.S through the International Volunteer Exchange Program (IVEP) by Mennonite Central Committee. Through this program I was able to share my expertise and cultural experience working as a regenerative carbon farming and field research assistant while gain experience on regenerative farming systems aimed at addressing climate change issues.
Currently I’m working on a Community Based Organization (Leap Empowerment and Development Initiative) which we co-founded with former CRM alumni. I’m also consulting with other two other organizations helping them execute their projects.
CRM has largely played a big part on my leadership and impact journey. It ignited my passion for community work and leadership and so far in my career I have applied a lot of what I learned from the CRM courses.
